Meaning of Atman
Hinduism
Meaning of atman Hinduism must be understood with absolute clarity! The
most fundamental definition of atman in Hinduism is stated in most sacred Scripture of Hinduism... the
revered Bhagavad-Gita... the doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna in battle of Mahabharata! In English
parlance Atman of Hinduism means soul in English... as related referred to in Christianity!
In a nutshell atman and soul mean the same! As per Bhagavad-Gita of
Hinduism Atman stands for prime consciousness... the supreme consciousness that pervades entire cosmic
system! It is the presence of atman soul within a body that results in manifestation as a living being! Only
when an atman soul manifests a body... a living form gets created... never otherwise!
Atman forms the true essence of life... the gist of entire cosmic system!
In absence of atmans souls' life carries no meaning in entire cosmos! It is only when life supporting planets
like mother Earth develop in cosmic system... life truly germinates in the cosmic system! Unless an atman
soul manifests a body on life supporting planets like mother Earth... the existence of life in the cosmos
would remain a distant dream!
Ever since big bang occurred when God Almighty explodes self with a big
bang... all atmans souls in the cosmos spread all over cosmos at unimaginable speeds! In the melee... the
hurtling souls' atmans gathered impurities. To cleanse self of the dross impurities within... starts the
cosmic journey of every atman soul.
From beginning to end... in the entire life span of an atman soul... this
super consciousness termed atman soul remains a governing factor. It is our atman soul that manifests a
body... a live body on mother earth to eradicate the dross impurities within! In absence of body the removal
of impurities within the soul atman is not possible.
How is Atman
different from the Body?
How is atman different from body can be experienced all the time!
Something in our heart flutters all the time... something that needs pure oxygen to survive! Our atman soul
resides in our heart... the prime cause that until heart beats... the body remains alive... the moment our
heart stops functioning... the body becomes dead!
We have to understand thoroughly that our atman soul is the absolute
master and controller of body and not vice versa. It is our atman soul that has manifested human body... or
any other living form to cleanse itself of the dross impurities within! It is not within the capability of
human body or a living form to manifest an atman soul!
Of itself every Atman soul is inert matter... a live consciousness which
of itself cannot purify self! Similar as one KG of pure gold existing in a lump of hundred KG gold ore cannot
separate itself of its own and needs external mining processes and machinery for the same... every atman soul
also requires manifesting a series of bodies to cleanse self of the dross impurities within.
To work out its karma... to cleanse itself of dross impurities within... every atman soul in its entire life cycle
manifests a maximum of 8.4 million bodies... that requires an earthly life cycle of 96.4 million years before atman
soul fully purifies itself... regains its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form!
To eradicate dross impurities within... every atman soul requires
manifesting karma and this gives rise to life in cosmic system! The journey of every Atman soul starts with
form of amoeba (single cell formation)... the first manifestation by atman soul in the cosmic life cycle!
Subsequently it evolves... manifests into multi-cell formation... then insect life, plant life, animal life
and finally forms of human beings!
Manifestation of life by an atman soul in cosmic system is the ultimate
crux of life! Until an atman soul manifests... no atman soul can eradicate dross impurities within... work
out its karma! It is the doctrine of karma that facilitates movement of atman soul from one manifestation to
another... from one body to next!
The human body... any living body for that purpose is a temporary sojourn for the atman soul that manifests the
human form... the living form! As long as our heart keeps beating... it indicates the presence of atman soul in the
body! Whence arrives the time for bidding goodbye... the atman soul leaves the body to decay and die!
In absence of an atman soul, Napoleon Hill has rightly justified the
value of human body totaling a dollar and few cents! At no stage of life we can undermine value of atman
soul... the existence of atman soul in the body! The prime reason why it becomes duty of every human being to
assist its atman soul in expeditious completion of cosmic journey! This becomes possible by traveling the
spiritual path... undertaking the spiritual journey as stated in Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism!
Spiritual Journey
Definition
The definition of spiritual journey as detailed in Bhagavad-Gita of
Hinduism is... reaching the inner self... the core of life at the earliest! From the beginning of life to the
end... the essence of life remains our atman soul gaining absolute purity! The moment this happens... devoid
of all dross impurities within the need for purified atman soul to manifest a body ceases to
exist!
The moment an atman soul gained absolute purity... the need for an atman
soul to manifest karma ceased to exist! The need for karma to manifest coming to naught... the purified atman
soul finally liberates self from cycle of birth and death forever... reaches ultimate goal of life... the
stage of salvation moksha.
As a human being... as the highest manifest stage in the cosmic life
cycle it becomes our prime duty to assist to our atman soul in reaching cosmic end of life... the 8.4
millionth manifestation at the earliest! This becomes possible by undertaking spiritual journey... the
spiritual path as ordained by God Almighty in the sacred Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism!
As a human being one cannot reach God through path of religion... the path of rituals! For knowing our true inner
self... for reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) we need traveling the path of spirituality! To realize
our real self... our atman soul... the spirit within it is imperative for human beings to undertake spiritual
journey at the earliest!
Having realized that we are in fact a spirit... a consciousness on its
cosmic journey... we need to enact our karma in a manner that only good karma... positive karma... Punya
karma collects in our favor! It is only by gaining virtues in life one travels ahead in journey of life...
the spiritual pursuit! Only by indulgence in good karma... positive karma... one negates presence of bad
karma!
In whatever stage of life one is... between karmic index of 7.300001 to
8.400000... Human beings are duty bound to travel the spiritual path now or leave it for next manifestation!
Finally in one manifestation... be it now or next we have to travel the spiritual path! The spiritual journey
cannot be postponed forever... it just cannot be!
For knowing spirit within... we need undertaking the spiritual journey by fathoming depth of wisdom contained in
Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism! The sacred Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism is one such document... one such sacred scripture
of Hinduism knowing which... one finally emancipated from cycle of birth and death forever... gained enlightenment
(kaivalya jnana) at the end of journey!
Enlightenment truly can never be gained via path of Christianity... the
teachings of Christianity contained in sacred Bible... the holy book of Christianity! Enlightenment can only
be gained via the path detailed in sacred Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism... never otherwise! All man gods like
Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and prophet Mohammed gained enlightenment following the teachings of
Bhagavad-Gita... never otherwise!
The lost years of Jesus Christ explain the fallacy contained in teachings
of Christianity! It is during the missing years... Jesus Christ gained his wisdom at Nalanda and Taxila
universities of yore that existed in erstwhile Bharatvarsha (now India). Both Nalanda and Taxila universities
in their times were excellent centers for imparting sacred teachings of Bhagavad-Gita, Vedas and
Upanishads!
In a nutshell Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism summarizes spiritual journey as... when human beings by establishing
absolute control over five senses and mind reach stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... the stage of nothingness... one
finally gained enlightenment whatsoever. Practice of absolute celibacy for minimum period of 12 years in
continuation was necessitated for full awakening of kundalini!
Undertaking the spiritual path... the spiritual journey as defined in
Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism is not a simple task... the prime reason why world over in the last about 150 years
only two persons reached the stage of enlightenment... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! Both
these spiritual stalwarts gained enlightenment in their lifetime following teachings of
Bhagavad-Gita!
The spiritual path... the sacred spiritual journey demands highest level
of perfection that can be reached by human beings! Surrounded by wanton desires... the greed for
materialistic riches... dominated by a bloated ego human beings finally succumbed to the glare of material
wealth! We fail to travel the spiritual path as ordained by God Almighty only to manifest a new life after
death of present body... the present human form!
Atman in Hinduism and Reincarnation
The concept of reincarnation of atman soul as understood by most human
beings world over is flawed! Even the Wikipedia dictionary gives an absolutely wrong explanation of
reincarnation by atman soul... the reason is evident! Enthusiastic editors knowing little of spiritual
path... the domain of spirituality just to maintain presence on Internet giving gibberish
explanations!!
Wikipedia dictionary defines reincarnation literally as something to be
made flesh again! As summed up in Wikipedia dictionary... after the death of body something survives only to
be reborn in a new body! The ignorant editors failed to understand that atman soul as indestructible... it
can neither be created nor destroyed!
Something that never dies... how can it be reborn? As detailed in
Bhagavad-Gita... the reincarnation simply means after the death of manifested body... the released atman soul
again manifests a new body based on the residual balance of karma of all previous manifestations! As is our
karma of present... accordingly shall be our destiny... the future!
The doctrine of karma is governing in cosmic system. The entire cosmic journey by an atman soul is one single span
of life... absolutely uninterrupted! On the earthly domain after death of body... the family weeps inconsolably but
in the cosmic system nothing much has happened. The released atman soul shall again manifest a new body similar as
changing of guards at Buckingham Palace!
Reincarnation as explained in Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism is our atman soul
manifesting a chain of bodies one after another until it reaches the end of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth
manifestation! The moment human beings reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... it announces
ceasing of journey by atman soul forever!
After reaching the stage of enlightenment... the liberated atman soul
finally enters abode of God... the kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism). The kingdom of God is a
point of no return... once the purified atman soul enters abode of God... it remains there till eternity...
i.e. until dissolution of cosmos occurs (termed Pralaya in Hinduism).
The explanation of reincarnation detailed in Bhagavad-Gita... in Hinduism is without a parallel! The other
explanations of reincarnation on the Internet... that something survives death and shall be again reborn in a new
body are expressing ignorance blatantly! As explained in Bhagavad-Gita... the journey of life for an atman soul is
uninterrupted... one single span of life!
The journey by an atman soul... that extends to 96.4 million earthly
years is one single span of life! Intermittently body after body... manifestation after manifestation... the
released atman soul remains in state of hibernation! We are truly an atman soul that has manifested the human
form to work out its karma... remove the dross impurities within!
We are not a human body undergoing a spiritual experience! The baseless
explanations given by religious pundits... religious masters of present era feign ignorance all the time. As
a human being we fail to understand concept of reincarnation... definition of atman soul as concepts of
cosmic system are veiled behind five senses and the mind.
Until we establish absolute control over five senses and mind... the true concept of atman soul... the definition
of reincarnation can never be understood by most human beings clearly! It is only by traveling spiritual path, the
spiritual precepts wisdom of Bhagavad-Gita unveiled step-by-step... slowly! The precepts of Bhagavad-Gita can never
be understood literally... one needs reading in between the lines!
The original gist of Bhagavad-Gita... the sacred contents of
Bhagavad-Gita are available for mere $.60 (rupees 30/=) across most railway stations of India yet, how many
truly fathom depth of wisdom contained in Bhagavad-Gita? The original gist of Bhagavad-Gita can always be
obtained by one directly from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India... a truly subsidized publication!
One explanation given on the Internet relating to reincarnation is... the
belief of Egyptians that reincarnation meant transmigration of the soul from body to body... the reason why
they embalmed the body so that it could journey along with ka... an animating force believed to be
counterpart of the body! This fallacy has led to downfall of Egyptian wisdom!
Any spiritual explanation which can withstand the scrutiny of time is only considered right... the prime reason why
the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita have been considered as perennial... everlasting! This is also the reason why
Hinduism is never considered a religion... it is always stated as a way of life! Truly Hinduism is not a
religion... it is a way of life!
If we truly and sincerely desire understanding concepts and precepts of
spirituality... we have to fathom depth of wisdom contained in Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism... in fact we have
no other alternative! The doctrine of Bhagavad-Gita given by Lord Krishna in battle of Mahabharata is
unique... unparalleled... full of wisdom ethics and morality!
Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism personifies truth in entirety! Assimilating
wisdom contained in Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism... I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age! When 13 I
started my journey on path of spirituality... a truly uncharted path! With no preceptor to guide, I was
always all alone in my spiritual journey!
Traveling the spiritual path has its pitfalls. Do not remember how many times I had to eat hell for breakfast...
how many contemplations of suicide! No matter what, I sustained all... continued my journey of self realization in
all circumstances of life! Finally God Almighty succumbed and I had a vision of God Almighty in the wee hours of
third of August 1993.
I had reached the end of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation!
Having eradicated my karma forever I have become a pure soul! The explanations given in sacred Bhagavad-Gita
of Hinduism have become like ABCD to me. It is as if I had dictated the sacred contents of Bhagavad-Gita in
one of my previous manifestations!
Understanding the concept of reincarnation is of utmost importance if we
desire understanding the details behind journey of the soul after death as in Hinduism! The spiritual path is
best traveled step-by-step... precept after precept! By logistically understanding meaning behind every
shloka (verse) of the sacred Bhagavad-Gita I finally gained wisdom of the cosmos.
Hinduism Moksha End
of Journey for Soul Atman
The concept of moksha... the definition of moksha in Hinduism is best
explained in Bhagavad-Gita! Moksha Hinduism simply means our atman soul regaining its original pure pristine
primordial form forever. The moment human beings reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... all is over for
atman soul within!
The liberated atman soul after reaching stage of enlightenment
(kaivalya jnana) finally gains moksha... liberation from cycle of birth and death forever! Also termed Mukti in
Hinduism... moksha announces end of cosmic journey by atman soul. After gaining enlightenment every liberated atman
soul finally gains moksha liberation the moment purified atman soul leaves the body!
Moksha Hinduism can never be achieved while remaining in body! After
reaching stage of enlightenment... the moment liberated atman soul leaves body... this stage is termed moksha...
Mukti in Hinduism! Moksha is gaining emancipation from cycle of birth and death forever by our atman
soul!
Having reached stage of Moksha Hinduism... the liberated atman soul need not manifest a body again! Devoid of all
karma... the need for a purified atman soul to manifest a body now ceases to exist! As long as single trace of
karma exists... every atman soul needs manifesting another body after death of present body.
Having reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) when karma
comes to a naught... the purified atman soul reaches stage of moksha salvation! The purified atman soul after
moksha salvation gains entry into kingdom of God... a point of no return! Reaching stage of moksha salvation
announces end of cosmic journey for atman soul.
Does this mean for every human being... reaching stage of moksha
salvation is the ultimate goal of life... yes, cosmic truth is so! Bhagavad-Gita... the most sacred Scripture of
Hinduism existing on mother earth explicitly makes it clear; goal of life... the ultimate goal of life always
belonged to our atman soul and not bodily self... human form... the human being!
It is presence of ego within human body that makes us perceive otherwise! Reaching end goal of life... stage of
moksha Hinduism is the end goal for every human being living on mother earth! One may belong to any religion,
follow any belief or creed... but gaining enlightenment and finally reaching stage of moksha salvation is a
necessity!
Traveling spiritual path in present life is not a necessity... The
sole prerogative of traveling spiritual path, undertaking spiritual journey rests with individual human being! Who
knows what we shall be in next manifestation... why not undertake the spiritual journey now!
Having understood spiritual crux of life... we shall now understand
where will the soul go after death as per Hinduism. As per Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism after death of body every
atman soul manifests another body based on residual balance of karma from all previous manifestations. If matching
parents are not available on mother Earth... every atman soul remains in state of hibernation!
In the state of hibernation... an atman soul gains a seat in heaven or hell... in heaven (termed swarga in
Hinduism) if the residual balance of karma is positive and hell (termed Naraka in Hinduism) if the residual balance
of karma is negative! Both heaven and hell exist in Sun... Heaven in the center... and hell in
periphery!
If we desire understanding concept of atma journey after death as per
Hinduism... we have to understand the concepts of heaven and hell in totality! Heaven (swarga in Hinduism) exists
in center of Sun where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade... it is in such high temperatures our
atman soul feels comfortable!
Hell (Naraka in Hinduism) exists in periphery of Sun where
temperatures are considerably less! It is in such low temperatures our atman soul suffers for eternity! No sooner
matching parents become available on mother Earth... the hibernating Atman soul immediately manifests a new body
and starts a new cycle of life... a new journey of life!
As ordained by God Almighty... it is residual balance of karma that makes an atman soul choose parents! In the
cosmic system nothing can err... all is ordered at every stage of life! Stephen Hawking... the famous physicist of
present times has wrongly erred in his famous book, "a brief history of time" that system of God is disordered at
some stage!
The ignorant scientist fails to understand that precepts of
spirituality can never be understood standing on pedestal of science! Spirituality starts from the point where
science ends. Science demands proofs that are not forthcoming in the field of spirituality. In the field of pure
spirituality it is absolute faith in God Almighty that rules the roost.
Traveling path of absolute faith in God Almighty... I finally crossed
all hurdles... the ocean of samsara (worldly life) and reached portals of God... the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi...
stage of nothingness when I can have a dialogue with God Almighty every second of life. I am in permanent communion
with God Almighty all the time!
The concept of death is not difficult to understand... we only have to look beyond the literal messages contained
in sacred Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism! For understanding 700 shlokas verses of Bhagavad-Gita... the earthly sojourn
of 70 to 80 years is insignificant compared to vast life span of 96.4 million earthly years in life of an atman
soul!
Still, it is only in human form our atman soul finally regains its
original pure prime pristine primordial form! The human form is the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle.
The journey in human form is the most pleasant experience for our atman soul. The human form... the human body is
sacrosanct for the prime reason that it needs traveling spiritual path to reach ultimate goal of life... the stage
of enlightenment and finally moksha salvation!
However best the religious masters... the religious pundits try to
explain concept of heaven and hell... none can belie the proofs of spirituality contained in sacred Bhagavad-Gita
of Hinduism! The call of religious fraternity of reserving a choicest seat in heaven is a total misnomer! For no
reason or rhyme to earn their livelihood the religious pundits have created a nonexistent furor.
No human being can enter the precincts of heaven (swarga)
bodily. With temperatures exceeding millions of degrees centigrade in the center of Sun, can any human being still
enter heaven bodily? Both heaven and hell are resting places for atman soul when matching parents are not available
on mother earth to manifest a body.
The creation of heaven and hell by God Almighty has no other purpose than
providing a hibernating place for atmans souls! After gaining moksha salvation... the liberated atman soul
enters kingdom of God... not kingdom of heaven as stipulated in Christianity and various other religions and
doctrines!
The prime fallacy of Christianity that Jesus Christ is son of God is the
biggest misnomer! The collective power of all purified atmans souls in cosmos is what we know as God
Almighty! If a single grain of sand is an independent atman soul... the whole mound God Almighty! As stated
by Mahavira, as made clear by Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism... every single human being has the potential of
becoming a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed in ones lifetime!
The spiritual goal of becoming a man God like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed is the
ultimate goal of life in cosmic system! Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed... all gained
enlightenment in their lifetime and finally moksha salvation! Every single atman soul that manifests a human body
has to reach the stage of enlightenment and finally moksha salvation... there is never an escape from laid down
principles of life!
