When we talk of consciousness ... we mean atman the soul within which has manifested this body. Awareness is connected to senses ... to be aware of the presence of God in the Cosmos. Consciousness is purely a Spiritual terminology (the World of Atman within) whereas to be aware helps one in the physical manifested World.
